I'm a keen squash player, playing at Southport and Birkdale in Div 2 and Div 3 NWCSL. I'm also a Racketlon player which is Table Tennis, Badminton, Squash and Tennis combined, first to 21 in each sport, playing all four against the same opponent.
It's growing in popularity, and some top squash players enter events including David Heath who was world top 50. Peter Nicol has played an exhibition match, and rumour has it Jonothan Power who is also a decent tennis player is training at his weaker sports after catching the racketlon bug at the Canadian Open.
There's a couple of tournaments coming up, and from my travels around NWCSL clubs there's always a couple of players at each club who express an interest so I wonder if you could forward my email to your clubs members. Racketlon actually helps Squash grow, because many people try it for the first time at a Racketlon tournament or event and then get the bug and end up joining a club.
The first tournament is the Cheshire open, which is held at Cheshire Officers home venue the Cheshire County Sports club just outside Chester. It's a small tournament but would be a good first tournament to gauge your standard. It's coming up soon (13th July) and the closing date is this Friday.

Now the tournament I'm organising is an International Challenger which means there will be players from all over Europe, but with different categories (Elite, Advanced, Novice, Over 45's and Over 55's) It's open to all abilities, and I should stress apart from the very best players most people are still learning at least 2 of the sports so you won't look silly!
It's being held at the Northern Club in Didsbury, Manchester, you may have played squash there, so you'll know the courts are good, and it's also got great Grass tennis courts, the Wimbledon of the North! It's on August Bank holiday weekend, Friday 23rd, Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th and the website with all the information is *www.britishopen.eu*
If you are on Facebook you can get all the information about Racketlon by liking the page www.facebook.com/worldracketlon
The English Racketlon website is www.englishracketlon.org and the FIR World Racketlon website is www.racketlon.net
If any of your clubs have the facilities for all four sports, and if you would like help setting up a Racketlon training night or even a Racketlon tournament I'll help you out and if anyone wants to challenge me to to a match I'll be up for it! I've attached an A4 poster for my tournament. If you wouldn't mind printing it out and putting it up at your club it would really help. Any questions drop me a line or call me on 07930198222. Best wishes Phil Todd
