The final round of this years Summer Cup event took place on Thursday 2^nd September at the Mereheath Lane club. This ever-popular annual event is a great opportunity for club members both old and new to meet up. Each member competes in one of the four teams over several Thursdays during the summer. Everyone receives a handicap and plays three games against another member from an opposing team, Point A Rally scoring. Afterwards the teams adjourn to the bar for a beer and some pizza.

This summers' competition was won by the Woodvale team with 46 points captained by the 'evergreen' David Moore. Second came The A Team with 42 points, third was The Dream Team with 38 points and fourth were Mamma Mia's young bloods with 35 points, getting stronger every year.

Special thanks must go to Guy Hill for organising the event. Not only for making sure each round ran smoothly. But also for looking after the club coffers by 'sniffing out' the excellent bargain pizzas from the 2 for 1 shelf in the chiller section at Booths Supermarket ensuring quality was not compromised by price! ….
