Village Cheadle v Knutsford 2

Match: Knutsford 2 Away to Village Cheadle

Date: 6th January 2011

Last week K2 played top-of-the-league Village Cheadle. 1st on was Steve Costello who was this evenings sacrificial lamb. Steve had the pleasure of playing Massambo - a div 1 player returning from injury. Mas couldnt run so an easy victory would have been on the cards except at 6ft something his reach was pretty good followed by impossible returns. Steve managed to get a game - well done - but lost out 3-1, a bit cheaky of Village Cheadle really. Simon at no 5 played a veteran who unfortunately seemed to have a point to prove - hard shots and good movement - lead to an unfortunate loss for Simon again 3-1. Next on Greg returning from injury and on fire. His arm held out, his shots were accurate and fast and better still playing an old mate of his. Greg went ahead then the inevitable happened. His arm went again, along with any subtle shots and hitting the ball faster than 5mph. His opponent took over and annoyingly won 3-1. Never mind Greg - we dont hold you responsible but if you had won....... Perry playing no 2 was absolutely on fire. None of us including his opponent saw much of the ball as he regained trademark Perry squash - hit hard, hit hard, hit hard, never drop. And it worked 3-0 Perry, well done. Last on Dave W with a point to prove. The last match aginst his opponent Indy, David W was given a lesson in Thursday night left handed squash. Uncharacteristically he was a bit pissed off. Fortuntely Indy, not at the top of his game, just folded after the 1st game and another victory 3-1. So we lost overall but a pretty good effort against top of league. WE HAVE TO JUST MAKE SURE WE NOW WIN THIS WEEK!
