Match:  Knutsford 2 Away to Alsager 2

Date:  29th of September 2011

The Second team's opening match was away to Alsager. Steve Costello got the match started and lost a disappointing 3-0 to the experienced Mike Cole.

            Perry Russell played 2 and was next on court; he went 2 games ahead against left hander Andy Fish. Fish volleyed well and pulled the match level at 2 games all. Perry kept to his game plan and had the better of Fish taking the match 3-2 with some tight boasts.

            Dave Waring played well at 3, he kept his opponent chasing around the court and wouldn't let him settle, although Dave dropped a game the match was never in doubt and the points were Knutsford's.

            Greg Marshall at 4 was a comfortable winner over Pete Lovat (4-9,6-9,2-9), and looked like he enjoyed the opening game of the season.

            Nigel Uttley almost had a walkover at 5, he dropped only 1 point in 3 games.

Well done lads (17 - 6) to us and curry and chips at the Yeoman !
